Caruso Traded to Thunder After Signing 4-Year Extension with Bulls

Contract Details and Implications

Alex Caruso has signed a 4-year contract extension with the Chicago Bulls worth $36,980,000, including $30,090,000 guaranteed. The contract becomes fully guaranteed if he is not waived by June 30, 2024. Caruso's salary represents a 476% increase from his previous contract.

However, the contract also includes a provision that makes Caruso an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2024-2025 season. Similar to Caruso's contract, Giddey's contract is approximately $15 million less for the next season.

The Trade

In a separate transaction, the Bulls have traded Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Josh Giddey. Caruso enters the final year of his contract with a salary of $9.89 million.
