Zach Arnett Named Mississippi State's 35th Head Football Coach

Mississippi State University has announced the appointment of Zach Arnett as its 35th head football coach. Arnett, 36, has been with the Bulldogs for the past nine seasons in various roles, most recently serving as defensive coordinator and associate head coach.
A Bulldog Through and Through
Arnett's connection to Mississippi State runs deep. He played linebacker for the Bulldogs from 2005 to 2008, earning All-SEC honors as a senior. After graduating, he served as a graduate assistant and strength and conditioning coach at MSU.
In 2014, Arnett was promoted to defensive backs coach before taking over as defensive coordinator in 2018. Under his leadership, the Bulldogs' defense has consistently ranked among the top in the SEC.

Arnett's success at Mississippi State has not gone unnoticed. He has been named one of the top assistant coaches in the country by numerous publications. In 2022, he was a finalist for the Broyles Award, which recognizes the nation's top assistant coach.
